Ask the Experts: Linking Incentives to ESG Performance
As investors, regulators, and stakeholders increasingly recognize environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities as financially material, companies are looking for ways to link management incentives with ESG performance. Though integrating ESG metrics into incentives may seem like the obvious next step, it's not. Companies must start with careful consideration of material priorities, establish strong board governance around these issues, set meaningful goals, and communicate effectively. In this Ask the Expert session, we’ll be joined by executives from Ceres and Semler Brossy to share a roadmap for board members of companies that have begun integrating ESG issues into their corporate strategies and may consider ESG in incentives.

Join this interactive “Ask the Expert” session to gain practical advice on:
1. Identifying material ESG risks and opportunities and establishing board oversight in these areas
2. Effective ESG goal-setting and implementation planning, including interim targets and transition plans
3. Stakeholder-centric communications and guidance on the proposed SEC Climate-related disclosure
4. Best practices for incentivizing ESG performance through executive compensation and other mechanisms
